Spring 2025 Eclipse Season

Eclipse season is upon us again, but it will be experienced differently this time. There will be a Virgo lunar eclipse on March 14th and an Aries solar eclipse on March 29th. Because the eclipses are in different signs, several different areas of your life may be impacted. 

Virgo Lunar Eclipse on March 14th

This will be the first of the Virgo eclipses since we’ve only had a Pisces eclipse so far, in September of 2024. This upcoming eclipse can act like the “beginning of the end”; you may find that the eclipse triggers thoughts or actions related to ending something. Something could manifest as “the straw that breaks the camel's back”. This can be both negative and positive. For some of you, the eclipse will act as the catalyst for you making major changes to your life. Reflect specifically on the Virgo house in your chart and its topics, but also consider your Pisces house topics. Both houses will be impacted by this Virgo lunar eclipse.

The eclipses are in the same signs every 9 years, although the nodes will be in opposite signs than they were 9 years prior. Because of the cyclical nature of eclipses and the nodes, you can reflect on 2015-2016 and what topics changed the most in your life - the same topics will experience change due to the Virgo/Pisces eclipses but the topics will change in different ways than they did prior. For example, maybe you broke up with a partner in 2016 when the eclipses were in your Virgo 1st house and Pisces 7th house. This time, you and your partner could move to the next step in your relationship or your needs in long-term relationships can shift in major ways. Until February 2027, the Virgo and Pisces eclipses will cause major changes, beginnings, and endings regarding your Virgo and Pisces house topics. These changes have already begun with the Pisces eclipse in September 2024, but this Virgo lunar eclipse will bring more action and initiative. Things that you’ve been trying to put off or push away will become impossible to ignore. On a societal level, we’ll see major changes manifest in an even more extreme way. We will find out shocking news that changes things for years ahead. 

People who have the traditional planets (Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn) in Virgo and Pisces will be most impacted by the Virgo and Pisces eclipses. More specifically, mutable rising signs will experience the most major changes in the next few years. Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, and Pisces risings will have the eclipses in their angular houses (1H/4H/7H/10H), which are the houses that represent some of the most important areas of life: yourself, your family, your long-term relationships, and your career or reputation. Over the next 2 years, mutable rising signs will face some of the most major changes they’ll experience in their lifetime - both positive and challenging.

This Virgo eclipse on March 14th has some major aspects being made to the Moon and Sun, indicating that several different planets will influence the eclipse’s energy. The Moon is making an applying trine to Uranus, an applying opposition to Neptune, and a separating opposition to Saturn. With so much outer planet influence, this Virgo lunar eclipse will cause more major long-term changes. Uranus is supporting the eclipse's action of causing sudden and major changes. Neptune is heightening the likelihood of over-idealization, rose-colored glasses, and optimism. Saturn, although the aspect is separating, will still bring tension regarding authority figures, structures, or accountability. 

Aries Solar Eclipse on March 29th

This will be the last of the Aries eclipses; the eclipses that have been triggering your Aries and Libra house axis since April 2023. Because it’s the last of the eclipses, endings will be heightened and more likely. At the same time, solar eclipses are typically like supercharged New Moons and bring new beginnings. If you’ve been too afraid to begin something new but have desired to do something different, this eclipse could push you to go for it. The Aries and Libra houses in your chart have been experiencing the most change in the past 2 years, and this final eclipse can bring you clarity, closure, or motivation regarding their house topics.

People who have the traditional planets (Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn) in Aries and Libra have been most impacted by the Aries and Libra eclipses. More specifically, cardinal rising signs have experienced the most major changes in the last few years. Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn risings have had the eclipses in their angular houses (1H/4H/7H/10H), which are the houses that represent some of the most important areas of life: yourself, your family, your long-term relationships, and your career or reputation. In the past ~2 years, cardinal rising signs have faced some of the most major changes they’ve experienced in their lifetime - both positive and challenging.

Unlike the Virgo lunar eclipse, the Aries solar eclipse isn’t experiencing any applying major aspects. Although the Sun and Moon aren’t influenced by other planets during this eclipse, Mercury and Venus retrograde will be right by (almost conjunct) Neptune. Both planet’s retrogrades will shape how we experience the Aries solar eclipse. Generally, things won’t be as clear as you want them to be. You may be struggling with knowing what the next step is, but the eclipse may push you into a new “role” even if you still have questions or concerns. Aries is impulsive and this eclipse will heighten this tendency.

Eclipse season is active and can manifest in stress or overwhelm. Make sure you’re taking things day by day, and remember that you’ve been through these eclipses before (if you are over 9 years old).
